The Mission
I have spent more than 25 years inside the hospitality industry, from dish pits, hotel lobbies, airport lounges, and bar floors to executive leadership, educational classrooms, conference stages, and global project teams.
My work is built around one belief: hospitality businesses fail because they do not have clarity early enough. My mission is to help founders build stronger businesses, protect their investment, and lead with more confidence.
The Origins
I started in hospitality as a dishwasher. From there, I worked my way through nearly every position inside bars, restaurants, airports, and hotels, eventually stepping into executive leadership before launching KRG.
Those early years taught me the real business behind hospitality.
Not just the food, drinks, design, or service, but the pressure, decisions, systems, people, and numbers that determine whether a business survives.
That foundation still shapes how I lead, consult, coach, speak, and write today.
Launching KRG
In 2009, I founded KRG Hospitality with my wife, Jennifer, with a simple but bold belief: this industry needed more than basic business plans. It needed better thinking and stronger foundations.
KRG was born from frustration with high failure rates, weak profit margins, and founders being pushed into expensive decisions without enough clarity.
The early years were hard-earned. As a 25-year-old consultant, I fought uphill battles for credibility, cash flow, and consistent results. That pressure shaped our ethos: no bullshit, just results.

The Growth
Over time, KRG grew from a consulting firm into a recognized hospitality strategy, coaching, and leadership brand.
I have helped develop more than 300 concepts, managed countless start-up projects, and personally overseen the strategy behind bars, restaurants, hotels, nightlife venues, and experience-driven businesses around the world.
Along the way, I became a speaker, columnist, podcast host, and published author of Bar Hacks, Hacking the New Normal, and Hospitality Reinvented.
Today, my personal brand and KRG’s brand work together around one purpose: helping hospitality leaders build with clarity.
The Future State
The future of my work is focused on helping the industry reinvent itself.
That means challenging the old model of chaos, burnout, weak systems, and reactive leadership.
Through our collection of KRG verticals plus speaking, books, and podcasts, I am focused on helping founders lead themselves, their businesses, and their futures with more discipline.
I believe hospitality can be creative, profitable, human, and sustainable, but only when leaders build with intention from the start.
Let’s Chat
This work is personal to me because every project represents someone’s livelihood, investment, team, family, and future.
When someone invites me into their business, they are not asking for loose opinions. They are trusting me with something that matters. I take that responsibility seriously.
Whether you are planning a start-up, stabilizing an existing business, scaling a concept, or looking for a stronger leadership voice for your event, I would be honoured to help you move forward with more clarity.
